  1. MCP Server

Tools

The Bitpanda MCP server exposes the tools below. Your AI assistant chooses which tool to call based on your request, so you don't call them directly. The descriptions explain what each tool does and the rules your assistant follows when using it.
Each tool also lists the API key scope it needs, its rate-limit group and its parameters.

Assets#

list_assets#

Browse the assets available on Bitpanda, such as cryptocurrencies, stocks, ETFs and metals. You can filter by ISIN, symbol, asset type, asset group or asset ID. Results are paginated.
Some stocks and ETFs appear twice with the same ISIN or symbol: once as a legacy security asset and once as a tradeable equity_security asset. Use the equity_security asset for trading. The legacy security assets can't be bought.
Required scope: None
Rate-limit group: read (50 requests per second)
ParameterRequiredDescription
cursorNoPagination cursor
pageSizeNoNumber of results per page (1-100, default 25)
isinNoFilter by ISIN
typeNoFilter by asset type
groupNoFilter by asset group

idNoFilter by asset UUID, or a comma-separated list of asset UUIDs

Currencies#

Crypto Networks#

get_crypto_asset_networks#

Show which blockchain networks a crypto asset can be deposited to or withdrawn from on Bitpanda. Look up the asset by its ID or by its ticker symbol (for example BTC). For each network the response includes:
Availability: whether the network is operational and whether deposits and withdrawals are currently allowed.
Deposits: the minimum deposit, the minimum amount for a fee-free deposit, and the deposit fee.
Withdrawals: the withdrawal fee and its range, plus the minimum and maximum withdrawal amounts (per transaction and per 24 hours).
All amounts are in the crypto asset itself. A missing value means the setting isn't configured, and a limit of 0 means there is no limit.
Required scope: None
Rate-limit group: read (50 requests per second)
ParameterRequiredDescription
assetIdNoAsset id (UUID) of the crypto asset, as returned by list_assets. Use symbol instead to look up by ticker
symbolNoTicker symbol of the crypto asset, case-insensitive (e.g. BTC, ETH)

Trading#

request_for_quote#

Request a price quote to buy or sell an asset. You can specify the order as an asset quantity (for example 0.1 BTC) or as an amount of money (for example 100 EUR). The quote includes the fee in fiat.
Your assistant follows these rules when it shows you a quote:
One quote at a time: you can only have one active quote. Your assistant requests a quote, waits for you to accept or reject it, and only then requests the next one.
Key Information Document (KID): for ETFs and ETCs, your assistant always shows you the link to the product's Key Information Document before you accept.
Costs disclosure: before anything else, your assistant shows the expected costs of the trade (ex-ante costs) as three tables:
1.
Costs and Charges: each cost type with its amount and its share of the investment, plus a total.
2.
Impact on Performance: your net investment after costs, how much costs reduce your return, and an annual illustration of your return before and after costs.
3.
Cumulative Costs: the estimated costs and the annual return for each holding period.
Warnings: any warnings returned with the quote are always shown.
Trading budget: if your API key has daily trading limits, the quote also shows how much of today's budget is left.

ParameterRequiredDescription
assetIdYesAsset UUID to trade
currencyIdYesCurrency UUID to trade against
sideYesSide of the trade: BUY or SELL

This tool takes no parameters.

set_trading_limit#
